Transneft Siberia Completed Scheduled Repairs on Trunk Oil Pipelines

Transneft Siberia completed scheduled repairs on the facilities of the Kholmogory – Klin, Surgut – Gorky – Polotsk, Ust-Balyk – Kurgan – Ufa – Almetyevsk, Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev, and Urengoy – Kholmogory trunk oil pipelines (TOP).

The work was carried out within the integrated technical upgrading programme both on the linear portion of the oil pipeline and on the onsite facilities in order to improve the operational reliability of the trunk oil pipelines facilities.

Medium repair of 5 valves was carried out and 4 more valves were replaced in the course of the scheduled shutdown of Kholmogory – Klin TOP. Furthermore, hydraulic testing of pipelines of the Konda-2 PS tank farm and disassembly of the Ilyichevka PS pig trap station were carried out. Medium repair of 5 valves, tie-in of 2 tees, and connection of coupling pipelines of Surgut Polotsk TOP and Yagodnoye PS were carried out on the linear portion of the trunk oil pipeline.

The constructed section of Surgut – Gorky – Polotsk TOP was connected at the underwater crossing though the Molva river. A connecting pipe was cut out on the linear portion of Urengoy – Kholmogory TOP. A sampling device was tied in on Karkateyevy LODS during the shutdown of Ust-Balyk – Kurgan – Ufa – Almetyevsk TOP. Two dead-end sections and corrosion defects were cut out on the supply and delivery pipelines of Salym-3 PS of Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev TOP.

The work was carried out by the oil pump stations line-maintenance teams, central maintenance departments of the company divisions, and specialized directorate for emergency prevention and response day and night.

Oil delivery via trunk oil pipelines has been restored as scheduled; the pipelines are operating in the normal mode.
