Transneft Siberia renews metrological equipment at oil trunk pipelines

Date of publication: 07 September 2017 Print

Employees of Transneft Siberia commissioned an oil quality block after reconstruction at Yuzhny Balyk line operation dispatcher station (LODS). This equipment is an integral part of the transported raw material operative accounting system.

Works on renewing the metrological equipment at oil trunk pipelines are conducted as part of implementation of the technical upgrading and revamping programme. The programme provides for commissioning of six more facilities for accounting and measuring oil quality parameters upon oil transportation through the oil trunk pipelines system by the end of the year.

Four new quality parameters measurement units (QMU) are planned to be installed at oil pump stations of Transneft Siberia - three blocks at Karkateevy LODS of Nefteyugansk Oil Trunk Pipelines Directorate (OTPD) and one block at Shaim OPS (oil pump station) of Uray OTPD.

Quality parameters measurement units developed by Transneft R&D are implemented at Transneft Siberia since 2015. This equipment is used for quality parameters measurement.  Due to innovation technologies, used upon its development, all the equipment is located in a unified technological cabinet, which makes its assembly and further operation significantly cheaper. The QMU generates and produces information used for calculation of technological modes of oil pipelines’ work and control for oil quality parameters, such as pressure, temperature, density, viscosity, humidity, sulfur content.

Assembly of two operative quantity and quality parameters measurement systems (OQQPMS) meant for automated operative accounting of oil, measurement of volume, mass and other indices, securing valid and operative accounting of the raw material pumped through the oil trunk pipelines system, is conducted at Zapadny Surgut and Kuchiminskaya oil pump stations of Surgut OTPD.  The systems allow generating operative oil balance automatically.  The new operative systems will function at Kholmogory - Klin and Surgut - Gorky - Polotsk oil trunk pipelines.
