Transneft Siberia plans to save 3,800 tonnes of oil equivalent to RUB 59.896 million till the end of 2017

Optimization of oil pumping regimes allowed Transneft Siberia to reduce power consumption for 7 months of 2017 and obtain the economic benefit amounting to RUB 31.44 million. The arrangements called to cut energy consumption and enhance the energy efficiency of industrial processes are part of the Transneft energy policy.

As part of the said arrangements, lighting is being replaced at the facilities of Transneft Siberia this year, with about 20,000 LED lighting systems to be installed till the year’s end. The given measure will result in the saving of 7,238.02 kWh or RUB 20.69 million in oil transportation. According to Transneft Energy, the performance targets for cutting the energy consumption by business units of Transneft Siberia are reached in 2017.

All vehicles in the business units of Transneft Siberia are equipped with the GLONASS system which does not only allow the full traffic control, but also keeping track of actual fuel consumption per vehicle. During 7 months of 2017 all types of vehicles in the Company’s business units consumed 9,304 tonnes of oil equivalent (TOE) under the planned consumption of 10,065.68 TOE. Savings became possible due to the acquisition of modern vehicles and higher efficiency of traffic logistics control. Using modern logistics in traffic organization allows the optimization of routes, maximum efficiency in using available vehicles and their holding capacity.

The energy efficiency effort has increased the efficiency of using energy resources and cut production costs quite significantly. Furthermore, energy efficiency activities improve the environment as a result of emission abatement.

Future energy saving objectives include the design and construction of pipeline transport facilities using state of the art energy efficient technologies, upgrading of the main equipment and decommissioning of antiquated equipment, enhancement of the energy efficiency policy due to the development of modern corporate regulations for industrial process control.
