Transneft Siberia, JSC completed upgrading of the process control system at Sosva-2 PS

Uray Oil Trunk Pipelines Directorate of Transneft  Siberia completed works for technical upgrading of the automated process control system at Sosva-2 oil pump station (PS). The facility was commissioned in strict compliance with the terms stipulated by the approved Transneft`s Technical Upgrading and Revamping Programme for 2017.

The purpose of technical upgrading is replacement of the relay automation system at Sosva-2 PS, which has been operated from 1985, by the microprocessor-based system meeting Transneft`s requirements.

Works for technical upgrading of the automation system at Sosva-2 PS were started on 01 February 2017. As part of implementation of the project, 45 cabinets, brackets and instrument racks, 256 sensors, annunciators and transducers, 6 automated work places were mounted on the territory and in the premises of technical facilities of Sosva-2 PS. Electric drives of the automated pressure control system were replaced, more than 72 km of cables were laid, more than 1,100 meters of overhead cable trays were mounted.

The up-to-date microprocessor-based automated process control system at Sosva-2 PS produced by Nefteavtomatika, PJSC (Ufa) provides the high level of control over parameters of the PS`s main and auxiliary mechanical process and power equipment and of the state of stop valves enabling to enhance reliability of operation of Kholmogory – Klin oil trunk pipeline at Konda – Platina process section.
