Transneft Siberia Completes Routine Repairs at Oil Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Siberia has completed routine repairs at oil trunk pipelines (OTPs). The work was done under the integrated technical upgrading programme for the linear portion of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuibyshev (NKK), Ust-Balyk – Nizhnevartovsk (UBNV) and Povkh – Pokachi – Urievskie (PPU) OTPs.

The works performed during a routine shutdown of the NKK OTP included removing two defects at process pipelines of oil pumping stations (PS), cutting out damaged sections with the total length of 350 m, replacing one gate valve and conducting midlife repairs of 7 gate valves. A duplicate gate valve was dismounted at the Demyanskoe-3 PS under the programme of removing duplicate gate valves and dead-end sections, inactive crossovers at process pipelines of Transneft Siberia oil pumping stations. The Povkh – Pokachi – Urievskie pipeline was shut down to cut out defective sections in six portions, their length totalling 312 metres. A gate valve and 5 back flow valves underwent midlife repairs at the Nizhevartovskaya-3 PS of the Ust-Balyk – Nizhevartovsk OTP.

Line maintenance teams of oil pumping stations, central maintenance divisions of the Сompany’s business units and the specialised directorate for emergency prevention and response performed the works.

Oil pumping via trunk pipelines was resumed in accordance with the schedule; the pipelines have been running in the routine mode.
