Transneft Siberia has commissioned a new power supply system at Aremzyany-2 oil pumping station (PS) of Tobolsk Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate (OTPD) in Tyumen Region. The works were performed as part of the technical upgrading and overhaul programme implemented by the Company in order to increase power equipment’s reliability.
The previous power supply system has been operated since 1976 and no longer complies with requirements of applicable regulations and Transneft’s standard design concepts.
A new 10 kV indoor switchgear (IGS-10kV) with modern factory-assembled switchgear (FASG) cells equipped with microprocessor relay protection and automation units was built during the revamping of the power supply system at Aremzyany-2 PS. Oil-filled switches were replaced with vacuum ones, that increase the equipment’s reliability.
The new ISG building accommodates a room for patch panels and telecommunications equipment as well as a room for the operator of PS-2. Moreover, a 630 kW emergency backup diesel power plant with relevant equipment, communications and diesel fuel tanks was built as well as a new overhead cable tray carrying 100 km of cable. All the equipment was manufactured in Russia and meets the latest requirements.
Due to the use of up-to-date equipment, the upgraded power supply system ensures reliable supply of power to Armzyany-2 PS and uninterrupted oil transportation via the operated section of the Ust-Balyk – Kurgan – Ufa – Almetievsk oil trunk pipeline, enhancing safety and energy efficiency at the facility.
