Transneft Siberia has completed works on ice freezing at the crossings over the Pur and Taz rivers in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, as well as over the Tavda river in the Sverdlovsk Region.
Ice crossings have passed the technical examination at the State Small Vessels Inspectorate and, as a result, were officially commissioned.
The enterprise creates ice crossings over the Pur and Taz rivers for the purpose of year-round maintenance of the Zapolyarye — Purpe oil trunk pipeline, delivery of fuel and lubricants, equipment and food to Zapolyarye and Yamal oil pumping stations as well as oil heating stations at the 87th km and 221th km. There are currently no bridge crossings over the Pur and Taz rivers, therefore during cold period, ice roads and helicopters are used to deliver cargoes to remote operational facilities in Tazovsky District of YaNAD.
The documents on technical examination of ice crossings over the Pur and Taz rivers are signed. The thickness of the ice at the crossing over the Pur river is 103 cm, the length is 620 meters. The thickness of the ice freezing on the Taz River is 95 cm, the length of the crossing is 550 meters. Both crossings are ready for operation, their carrying capacity is up to 60 tonnes.
An ice crossing with carrying capacity of up to 30 tons was opened at the Tavda River. The thickness of the ice is 80 cm.
In addition, works are underway to freeze ice at the crossings of oil trunk pipelines over the Katym and Kima rivers (KhMAD-Yugra). The ice crossings are created to provide unhindered access to remote sections of oil trunk pipelines to ensure reliable operation and environmental safety of the trunk pipeline system of Transneft Siberia.
