Transneft Siberia Completes Scheduled Repairs at Oil Trunk Pipelines

Transneft Siberia has completed repairs of oil trunk pipelines and onsite facilities.

Three gate valves were replaced, midlife repairs of three gate valves were performed, two sections with corrosion damage were cut out during a planned shutdown of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuibyshev oil trunk pipeline (OTP).

A set of works was also performed at onsite facilities. Moreover, midlife repairs of eight gate valves were performed at Yuzhny Balyk LODS and Chashi LODS, two defects were eliminated and two tees were replaced at process pipelines of Setovo-2 PS. A mainline pump unit was connected during a shutdown of Mugen-4 PS of the Surgut – Polotsk OTP.    

Line maintenance crews of oil pumping stations, central maintenance divisions of the Company’s business units and the Specialised Directorate for Emergency Prevention and Response were involved; the work was performed as part of an integrated technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme. The purpose was to achieve higher operational reliability and environmental safety of the oil trunk pipelines’ facilities.

Pumping of oil has been resumed as scheduled, the oil pipelines are now functioning under normal conditions.
