Transneft Siberia Completes Revamping Surgut – Gorky – Polotsk Oil Trunk Pipeline Sections

Transneft Siberia’s Tobolsk Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate connected to the system three reconstructed sections of a standby leg of the Surgut – Gorky – Polotsk trunk pipeline in Tyumen Region.

A set of works on replacement of pipeline sections was carried out according to the in-line inspection results using only Tobolsk OTPD resources under the Company’s programme of technical upgrading. The total length of the pipeline’s replaced sections is 1.6 km.

The works began in November 2018. At present, the construction and installation works have been fully completed, strength and tightness of the reconstructed areas have been tested, technical and biological rehabilitation of disturbed lands has been completed. The standby leg sections were put into operation.

The technical upgrading of the Surgut — Gorky — Polotsk OTP standby leg was carried out to ensure emergency-free operation and environmental safety of Transneft Siberia’s system of oil trunk pipelines.
