Transneft Siberia has completed replacement of synchronous electric motors with induction ones and replacement of foundation frames of main pump units at Tyumen petroleum products pumping station (PPPS) of Tyumen Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate. The work was carried out within the scope of the technical upgrading and revamping programme implemented by the Company.
Four synchronous electric motors with a capacity of 1,250 kW whose service life was exhausted were replaced with new modern induction electric motors with improved efficiency indicators and an extended time between repairs. Batteries of static capacitors were installed to compensate for reactive power, two panels of the control system and two packaged transformer stations whose service life was exhausted were replaced with new ones that meet all safety requirements.
In addition, the mainline pump house’s electrical room was repaired: the lighting system was replaced, and energy-efficient LED lights were installed.
The replacement of synchronous electric motors with induction ones was carried out with the aim of increasing the efficiency and reliability of power equipment. Transneft Siberia expects to save 3,854.4 kW/h as a result of the energy efficiency programme in the current year.
