Tyumen Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate (OTPD) has finished the construction of a 7.2 km long section of a route Electric Power Transmission Line along the Shaim – Tyumen oil trunk pipeline (OTP) in Tyumen Region. The work was performed as part of the comprehensive technical upgrading and revamping programme being implemented by Transneft Siberia.
Installation of route power line pylons on pile foundations in a marshy area and wire suspension using state-of-the-art polymer reinforcement were completed in the context of technical upgrading of the section from 383rd km to 390th km of the Shaim – Tyumen OTP. Wire of the HVL was replaced within the section from 325th km to 345th km of the pipeline.
By now, the territorial body of Rostekhnadzor (the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological and Nuclear Supervision) has examined the electrical installation and issued a permit for putting it into operation. A comprehensive 24-hour long trial run of the route high-voltage line was performed, following which the section of the 10 kV HVL from 383rd to 321st km of the Shaim – Tyumen OTP was put into service.
The technical upgrading of the section of the route high-voltage line is required to ensure reliable power supply to consumers at the pipeline facilities and uninterrupted pumping of oil through the Shaim – Tyumen OTP.
