Transneft Siberia Completes Construction and Installation to Replace Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev Oil Trunk Pipeline Section

Tyumen Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate of Transneft Siberia has completed the construction and installation under the project of replacing a section of the main leg of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline in Tyumen Region.

A set of works on replacement of the pipeline section was carried out according to the in-line inspection results under the Company’s technical upgrading programme. The total length of the pipeline’s replaced section is 14.98 km.

The works began in January 2019. At the moment, the welding into a string, pipe laying and backfilling have been completed. Strength and leakage testing of the reconstructed section has been performed. The preparations for in-line inspection, technical and biological land rehabilitation and construction of a plank road, are underway. The commissioning of the section is scheduled for November 2019.

The technical upgrading of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev OTP’s main leg section is being carried out in order to ensure emergency-free operation and environmental safety of Transneft Siberia’s oil trunk pipeline system.
