Transneft Siberia Receives YaNAA Governor’s Commendation in Field of Ecology

The activities of Transneft Siberia have received Dmitry Artyukhov’s, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Governor’s, commendation for its active participation in activities aimed at the environmental well-being of Yamal.

The letter of appreciation was presented to Sergey Smetanyuk, Deputy Director General of Transneft Siberia, by Head of the region during the meeting dedicated to summarising results of the work of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area government in 2019, which was held in Salekhard.

Dmitry Artyukhov emphasised that the implementation of joint projects with the Company in fuel and energy sector system aimed at caring for Yamal ecosystem is a significant support for development of Yamal economy. “Indifference, high social responsibility, concern for maintaining Yamal Arctic will continue to be a reliable guarantee of the stable operation of the Company and a decent life for northerners,” the Governor said in his letter of appreciation.

 Employees of Transneft Siberia business units regularly take part in environmental events and voluntary cleanups. Continuous environmental monitoring is going on within the area of operation of the Zapolyarye – Purpe oil trunk pipeline. Emergency response drills to eliminate abnormal situations at onsite facilities and oil trunk pipeline underwater crossings are conducted as part of operational activities. The scheduled modernisation of equipment, which ensures operating facilities environmental safety, is being carried out in accordance with the technical upgrading and revamping programme for Transneft Siberia.
