Date of publication: 14 May 2020

Transneft Siberia has completed a set of works on technical upgrading of the automated process control system (APCS) of oil pumping station (OPS) No. 4 of the Demyanskoye LODS, the Tobolsk Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate.

The replacing of the OPS-4 automation system of the Demyanskoye LODS, which had been in operation since 1999 and had ceased to comply with the technical requirements of Transneft, was performed to increase reliability of the OPS equipment operation and to optimise the technological processes of oil transportation via the Surgut — Polotsk oil trunk pipeline. Modern technical solutions, fault-tolerant pressure, level and temperature transducers are used.

The facility was put into commercial operation in accordance with the timeframe set by the Technical Upgrading and Revamping Programme.

The modern microprocessor-based automated process control system of OPS-4 of the Demyanskoye LODS was manufactured in Russia. The system has improved ergonomics, increased data processing speed, provides a high level of control of the LODS main and auxiliary mechanical, technological and power equipment specifications, as well as of stop valves’ condition, while increasing the reliability of operation and the environmental safety of the Surgut – Polotsk oil trunk pipeline.
