Transneft Siberia Commissions New Electric Pump Units at Setovo-2 Oil Pumping Station

Date of publication: 10 November 2020

Transneft Siberia has replaced two electric pump units (MPU) at the Setovo-2 oil pumping station (PS) of the Tobolsk Oil Trunk Pipeline Directorate of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline.

During the work, modern pumps produced by Transneft Oil Pumps (Chelyabinsk) with a capacity of 10,000 m3 of oil per hour and new electric motors were installed. All units have increased efficiency indicators, repair interval and service life. An oil system, pipelines of a leakage and drainage system were also replaced with the installation of modern sensors of vibration, temperature and pressure. The work was carried out at the facility within six months. The new electric pump units were connected to the infrastructure of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline and were put into operation on schedule.

The capacity of each new main pump allows to pump a volume of oil equivalent to 116 tanks with the capacity of 86 m3 each hourly.

At the present time, the replacement of four additional electric pump units which are planned to be commissioned in 2021 continues at the Setovo LODS. The work on updating the pumping equipment is carried under the technical upgrading and revamping programme of Transneft Siberia.

The modern pumping equipment which meets the regulatory requirements of Transneft allows to increase industrial and environmental safety, reliability and energy efficiency of an operating facility, as well as to ensure uninterrupted oil transportation.
