Transneft Siberia replaces the underwater crossing of Ust-Balyk – Nizhnevartovsk oil pipeline across the river Syroy Agan

Nefteyugansk Oil Trunk Pipelines Directorate of Transneft Siberia replaces the underwater crossing at the standby leg of Ust-Balyk – Nizhnevartovsk OTP (oil trunk pipeline) across the river Syroy Agan (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra). The reconstruction is conducted in accordance with the joint-stock company’s development programme.

The works on reconstruction of the oil pipeline section started in January 2017. The total length of the section under replacement is equal to 452 metres; the length of the riverbed section (siphon) is equal to 105.3 metres. At the present time pipe has been laid in the riverbed by laying method; hydro-testing and BGT tool analysis of the siphon have been conducted. The width of the river in the area of works is equal to 42 metres; the depth is equal to 3 metres.

The constructed section was connected to the functioning oil pipeline within the planned stop period on 11-14 April 2017. All the works, including technical and biological recultivation, are planned to be finished in September 2017. At the present time oil transportation through the pipeline is performed through the main leg under normal conditions.

The technical upgrading of the underwater crossing of Ust-Balyk – Nizhnevartovsk OTP across the river Syroy Agan is performed for the purpose of securing safe operation and environmental safety of the oil trunk pipelines system of Transneft Siberia.
